Hi there,
I need your advice on formula feeding and your experiences with it. As I start working again soon and my baby is about to turn 6 mo I slightly want to introduce her to baby formula. I tried to breast bump but I just really don't like it at all. During 3 days per week my stepmother is going to take care of our baby for a few hours and I want to provide my baby with a good alternative to breast milk. I still have a few weeks left before I go back to work and want a slight introduction of the formula. Another question is if you ever had to deal with prejudices from other mothers and people? I already heard some horrible stories.
Hope to hear from you,
Leya

If you are looking to change the baby try SMA Gold, others are available, at this age they can take baby rice and even rusks. The health visitors might say otherwise. Health visitor took a fit when she came in and the baby was munching into rice. Some do not take to the ready made milk as it can make them more sickly. Ours was eating rusks by this time as we could not keep them on milk, as soon as we started Baby Rice and Rusks the constant asking for more feeding stopped. Much happier baby. But why ask me, I am a man!

also men have experiences with feeding, at least these who take care of their family and be part in the feeding process
It is true this is actually also a good time to start feeding solids. Anyways it is so different from child to child. When my first one got solids for the first time he was very eager to get more and more. Our second baby the girl was more a picky eater, she loved her formula and was very skeptical when it came to veggie or fruit pulp. She loved rice though You might give rice a try as it seems babies like rice a lot. When we were getting information on formula it was very important to us that the formula was a high quality and organic formula. Actually it was not that easy to decide on one specific but eventually we decided to feed our baby the German Hipp formula from myorganicformula.com/. She was kind of okay with it and drank it but not really seemed to like it too much so my sister told me why not just to try the Dutch formula. And voila - she liked it way better. Try to find a quality formula your baby takes and also start slowly with solids. So you are going on the safe side! Good luck, congrats and happy "working again"

Good luck, some take to it right away. However, some need to learn how to eat solids, so it might take a bit of encouragement. Even my hungriest one needed to be encouraged to deal with solids. After he got the hang of it there was no holding him back. I would rather have kept him a week than a fortnight! He would have eaten us out of house and home given half the chance. The one good thing is, after he was fed he was happy for quite a while before he got hungry again on rice and rusks, however, if on milk he was constantly hungry. Rice is maybe better, rusks is good if you can get the reduced sugar kind. After they start eating these, you can then start them on the baby food that is prepared in jars and tins, however, be prepared for really bad smalls and almost luminous poos! Oh goodness, my brain has just reminded me how bad the smell was, but a happier baby. Even though changing nappies was not the best thing about it. But he was a happy baby after he started on rice.
